President Chavez gives full support to (PDVSA) board Posted: Sunday, March 17, 2002 VHEADLINE - President Hugo Chavez Frias has given his full support to the new Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) board of directors... especially new president Gaston Parra Luzardo and says he will militarize the corporation if rebel executives and managers go on strike. Repeating that the PDVSA isn't "a State within a State," the President insists that it must function in accordance with the strategy laid down by the government.
