Washington -- The Bush administration has stumbled badly in the past week over foreign policy challenges in the Middle East and Venezuela and must now work to restore its hard-won image as a skillful player on the international stage.
Political and foreign policy analysts warn that even if the long-term damage proves not to be extensive, the administration's misadventures with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez have emboldened critics and could even revive the competence question that President George W.
